Rally Driving : The land of Nokia
It’s a little known fact that you can’t be a professional rally car driver unless you’re Finnish. Ari Vatanen, Hannu Mikkola, Markku Alen? All Finnish. The only exception to the rule, as far as we can tell, was Colin McRae. And for all we know he may have wished he was Finnish. He probably had a Nokia phone which is all the evidence we need to prove our point.
Wikipedia lists 27 top Finnish rally car drivers. Which ain’t bad when you consider the population of Finland is only 46.

All of which means that if you want to turn rally driving into your career of choice then you’ll have to move to Helsinki, develop a sudden love of smoked reindeer meat and stick an extra couple of ‘kk’s in your name just to look authentic. Which is an awful lot of work if you just want to test your rally driving prowess every now and again.
There is an easier way to try your hand at rally driving – and it helps if you’re having a stag or hen party at the same time. With PartyWeekends.com’ rally car driving experience you can push a rally car, and yourself, to the limit around our specially designed rally driving courses, without once having to be Finnish.
Rally car driving – serious fun.
Choose our rally car driving experience as one of your amazing hen or stag weekend activities and you’ll be throwing yourself into the ultimate driving challenge – but rally driving is no stag or hen party gimmick.
If you want a laugh then try our motor mayhem or quad biking challenges. They’re mad, stupid, daft, massive fun.
Rally driving isn’t a chuckle-fest. It isn’t for people who’ve hardly ever sat their buttocks in any driving seat previously – let alone the Kevlar bucket seat of a rally car.
It’s for people who can drive, but who don’t quite get the thrill of motoring from a daily journey to work and back along the M1.
It’s for people who want to push a car to its limits for once instead of barely getting out of 3rd gear.
It’s for people who want to powerslide round corners but are too old to try doing it round Tesco’s car park in their dad’s Astra.
It’s a test of your ability to handle the car, follow instructions and power round the rally course keeping (roughly) to the track, upright, and avoiding trees. You may be strapped right back into your seat for safety’s sake but, metaphorically, you’ll be right on the edge of it in this nail biting, exhilarating and challenging experience.
And that’s not all. You’ll not only have to master the rally car – you’ll be rally car racing too. You’ll be pitted against the rest of your stag or hen party as you attempt to achieve the best time of the day – and bragging rights for the evening!
Take the ultimate driving challenge.
Test your skill and your nerves on this most testing of weekend activities: rally driving.
